Sensei Brandy Lucky is the Owner and Chief Instructor at Evolve. She holds a 4th degree BlackBelt in Aikido and a BlackBelt in Choy Lay Fut Kung Fu. Sensei Lucky has lived and done business in Contra Costa County for 15 years. After raising her 2 kids, she felt compelled to get back to teaching Aikido. Brandy is also the creator of Be Your Own Hero, a powerful, customized system of realistic self-defense. BYOH is the LAST self-defense program you’ll ever need. She is also the proud Mom of 2 teen daughters, and loves to travel and camp.
Nick Gonzales teaches Fighting Style Tai Chi at Evolve. He has practiced Yang Family Hidden Tradition Tai Chi for several years and is happy to share his vast knowledge of this powerful system with Evolvers. Nick also has martial arts training in Yin Style Baguazhang and Modern Arnis; both systems complement his Tai Chi training and understanding. In Nick’s class expect a focused, relaxed and non-impact workout with many health benefits. When Nick isn’t teach Tai Chi, he enjoys traveling and playing guitar.
Karyn Engle is the mastermind of Evolve Move & Play, where your 2.5-5 years olds learn about socializing and fun in a creative setting. Karyn has a background in Child Development & Psychology and worked in preschool settings for several years before having children of her own. She believes that the foundation of a healthy, thriving education begins with a fun, engaging environment in early childhood. With so much pressure being put on today’s youth to perform academically at such young ages, she has a passion for setting up an encouraging environment that promotes mental and emotional development through play.
